Review on the L’oreal Lumi Magique foundation

Posted on Posted in Beauty

Hello everyone!

After having some inspiring days, I decided to take my blog on to the next level. From now on, I am going to make blogposts in English, so I can reach more people. I wanted to make a blog that is really who I am. I am a young woman inspired by social media and lifestyle. My first post is one about make-up. I don’t wear make-up very often, but sometimes I like to when I have a special occasion. I do know quite some things about it so I thought I would share some tips with you guys. Welcome to my blog and let me know what you think!

Today I am going to do a review on the L’oreal Lumi Magique foundation. This isn’t a new product, but I bought it last week so I tought I would share my first impressions about it in a blogpost.

The bottle itself contains 30 ml product. In Belgium, you pay €16,99 for a bottle in the drugstore. I bought mine in Kruidvat. It’s a glass bottle. To me it has a very steady appareance. It looks like a foundation you can trust, not your regular drugstore foundation. The packaging is in the color pink.  I like the packaging.

The bottle says: “light infusing foundation as if lit from within.” The foundation promises to preserve you an even coverage with a dewy looking formula. Imperfections should be covered with the foundation.

The foundation promises a lot, time to try it out myself!

As you can see on the picture, I have a lot of imperfections I would like to cover. I do not wear foundation on a daily basis, but when I go out I like to look a bit more fresh.

The shade I am going to be wearing is called rosy porcelain. There are four other shades. I am starting off with one pump and dot it all over my face. I used a make-upsponge to blend it in. I used stippling motions to work the product into my skin. This one pump has freshed up my complexion and I look more awake. Although my imperfections weren’t covered with just this one pump.

I decided to add another smaller pump on my face. I used the same technique to blend it in my skin. This time my imperfections are more covered, but you can still see them through.

In my opinion this is a decent foundation. I wouldn’t say that it is a full coverage foundation. It has a very light coverage on the skin.

I would compare it to a BB-cream rather than a foundation. It feels very soft and light on the skin. It feels like you aren’t wearing any make-up on the skin.

As the packaging says, it has a dewy look, but not very dewy. To me, that’s a good thing because I do not like it when my face has a shiny look.

I like the foundation and I am going to be wearing it again. I do not like heavy duty foundations and when I use foundation, I like to use a tiny bit to even out my skin. This one does that job for me. The foundation doesn’t have a particular smell which is good. I do not like it when I can smell my make-up!

On first thought, I would repurchase it.

Long wearing

Just to make sure it is only the foundation I am wearing, I decided to not wear a primer underneath. I only wore my moisturiser. When I go out, I would use a primer but for this review I made sure to  only comment on the foundation itself.

After three hours of wear, it is still looking good. On my chin and forehead it still looks matte.

I tend to get shiny at my nose and cheeks which is also the case with this foundation. If I wanted to, I could repowder those areas. It didn’t really bother me so I kept it the way it was looking. It didn’t feel sticky or oily on any places.

The product blended in with a make-upsponge on my hand.

The foundation I had put on my blemishes hasn’t faded off which I tend to have with some other foundations. With a primer and setting spray, this foundation would do perfectly fine on a night out.

I would recommend this foundation to people who like a light coverage or that doesn’t have much blemishes. If you want full coverage, I wouldn’t recommend it. You would have to use a lot more layers to make it full coverage, which wouldn’t do good on your skin.

Maybe people with dry skin find the foundation a bit too drying unlike what the packaging says. Maybe you can make it work with a good moisturiser or moisturizering primer.

Overall, the L’oreal Lumi Magique Foundation did a good job. I like the product and its packaging. Keep on going L’oreal Paris!

That was it for today. I hope you liked it and let me know what you think. I would like some feedback so I know what I could change or do better. Have a good day everyone!

xoxo, Tessa
