NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar

NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar // What’s inside & is it worth the price?

Posted on Posted in Beauty
Hello everyone!

Long time no see! First of all, a happy New Year! For my birthday I received the NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar so I could unbox it during the Christmas period. Perks of being a November baby, right? Let’s dive in!

The NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar contains 24 products and retailed for 75 euros at the time we bought it. Is it worth the money?

Facepowders

So I decided to categorize the products in the product category they belong to. First up: facepowders! There are 4 powders in there: 3 highlighters and a blush.

I really love the packaging and the names of the subcollections. Land of Lollies, Sprinkle town, Paradise Fluff,… How cute is that!

These are the two highlighters. (Basically there is another one, but I don’t see it as a highlighter, more about that later). There’s a blue-ish white one (Pop ‘N Rock) and a rosy pink one (Candy Cloud.)

On the right side we have the blush, called Lollipop Hop and the third highlighter, Cinnamon Spice. For my skin tone this isn’t suitable as a highlighter because it is too dark. But I tried it as a shimmery bronzer and it looks great! So I use it as a bronzer, I love the duochrome sparkles in it!

Cinnamon Spice, Lolliepop Hop, Pop ‘N Rock and Candy Cloud. I think all four of them are beautiful and I used them a lot during the holiday season, and I will continue to!

Eyeshadow

There are six single eyeshadows in the NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar. The subcollections are again very cute!

Sweet château, Whipped Wonderland and Licorice Lane. I really love how they all have something to do with the main theme of the collection, Sugar Trip.

The first two are called Cookie Cutter and Candy Stash. Cookie Cutter is a white shade, ideal to highlight your browbone or inner corner, but I don’t think the pigmentation is that great. Candy Stash has a lovely pink pigmentation.

These colors are called In Deep Trouble and Twisted. Twisted is a dark blue-ish, grey color with a slight shimmer in it. It is a great color for smokey eyes. In Deep Trouble is a plum purple shade.

The final two eyeshadow colors are Whipped Mocha and Sweet Tooth. Whipped Mocha is a great medium brown color you can use as a blending shade or in your everyday looks. Sweet Tooth is very shimmery, almost glittery. The shimmers are slightly green, which gives the eyeshadow a very cool, unique look. I really love this one!

Candy Stash, Cookie Cutter, In Deep Trouble, Twisted, Whipped Mocha and Sweet Tooth. The pigmentation of them all is very good. I am very satisfied with the quality of these shadows.

Lip oil

There are also two lip oils in the NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar. I tried them both and I really like them. They feel very soft on the lips and have a great smell. They hydrate your lips very good.

They are called Candy Pop and Cranberry Mint. They have a different smell and taste, and I really like it. It isn’t that dominant, which makes it even more satisfying. I didn’t swatch them for obvious reasons, they are just colorless!

Matte lipstick

The NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar also features two matte lipsticks. A pink and a (yes) blue one! I actually love that they put the blue shade in it because it really pushes you out of your comfort zone, and I can’t wait to try it!

They are called Fluff Piece and Sorbae. The pigmentation is good, but I didn’t test the longevity of the lipsticks yet, but I fear it might be not that great, as they feel very creamy.

Look at those cute pink and blue shades!

(Intense) Butter Gloss

There are two Butter Glosses in the box. One of them is called an Intense Butter Gloss.

The colors are Sweet Nothing and Glaze-Y-Days. I understand why they call the pink one an Intense one, because this one has a very opaque pigmentation.

This photo isn’t very good, but the pink shade is more opaque than the regular butter gloss. But that one is also very good I think.

Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

The box also has two Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks. They are in the shades Starstruck and Peanut Brittle.

I think these are both very nice everyday shades to wear all throughout the seasons.

I haven’t tested them out yet, but I can’t wait to do so, because they look very longwearing and comfortable on the lips.

Lip Lingerie

Yes, NYX really treated us with lip products this past holiday season! But I love to switch up my lippies and I also like to wear them during work, so having lots of lip shades comes in handy for me.

The colors are called Deep Rooted and Slip. I tried the Deep Rooted and it looked great, but after eating it wore down a bit and it looked as if I had been eating Nutella and left it all over my lips. Always a risk when wearing these kinds of shades but next time I will be more careful when wearing this one!

I also really want to try Slip because it is a beautiful pinky nude shade.

Soft Matte Lip Cream

NYX is known for its great lip products and their outstanding quality, especially for their Soft Matte Lip Creams! It was also my first introduction to the brand and I was sold immediately. After that I was hooked on every single product I bought from them.

We get the colors Vienna and Kiev. Kiev is literally a black shade. Never tried a black lipstick before, so I am curious to try it out! Vienna is a great mauve shade.

The pigmentation of these two are amazing and very opaque as well. Love it!

Lone wolves

There are also two lone wolves in the NYX Sugar Trip Advent Calendar, meaning there is only one of it’s kind!

It’s a Soft Matte Metallic Lip cream in the color Nantes and a Slip Tease lipgloss in the shade Poppin’. I am obsessed with Nantes because of the golden metallic reflects in the pink shade. I love it as a lip topper on top of other shades, to give the look a little bit more sparkle, but it’s also great on its own.

Poppin’ is a lovely light pink shade, I think this one is very pretty for those upcoming spring days.

Phew! We are finished with our unboxing. There are a lot of amazing goodies and limited edition products in the calendar, which is great. The amount of product in the containers is also very satisfying in my opinion. They are mini’s, but I am sure they will last me a very long time. The quality of the products is also outstanding. I think it was definitely worth its 75 euros and I would rebuy it.

This was a great gift and so worth the money! I just love NYX, they always come through with amazing collections, creativity and quality products.

What do you think about this collection?

See you next time!
