Hello everyone!

I hope you guys are enjoying your day. Today I decided to make a blogpost on the trends of 2015, since 2016 has kicked off a couple of days ago. I know everyone of you has seen things the past year that they liked and want to remember but you have also seen trends that we really have to leave in 2015, where it belongs! Well, so do I. I am going to share some of the trends I really liked in 2015 and I will continue to do or try out in 2016 but also some of the things we have to let go. I hope you enjoy!

First of all, I want to tell you guys I caught a very bad cold last week and I had to stay inside for the whole week. Luckily, Belgian students have to study so that was no problem for me, although studying went much slower.

Both of my ears got infected and I was on a lot of medication so I felt very tired. Right now, I am feeling a bit better.

I’m still having a sore throat, sensitive nose and my ears still hurt a bit, but I am getting over it. Also, studying goes alright and I didn’t get much behind because of my sickness. Now let’s get started!

Baking

This trend is something that came up last spring.

I saw it for the first time on the channel of one of my favourite YouTubers, Nikkietutorials. I am a really big fan and she is a true inspiration for me!

I saw her doing it and at first I was thinking: “wow, that’s a lot of powder.” But when I got to see the results, I was really stoked. It looks great! After a while I saw a lot of other YouTubers do it and than I saw it coming up in the magazines. So what exactly is this about? Well, you apply your contour just like normal and after that, you take a white loose powder (or a variation on this) and you press this right under your contour to sculpt your face even more. Use a lot of powder so you can really see it lying on top of your skin.

Leave it on for a couple of minutes and blend out. You will be left with a crisp and fresh looking contour!

I think it is a very inventive idea that looks interesting when you see it at first, but when you blend it out it gives your skin an awesome look. Your contour looks very defined. I haven’t tried out this technique myself because I am a bit scared of the amount of make-up you put on your skin while doing this. I cannot leave the house with a face that has obviously has a lot of make-up on it! I really should, though.

My conclusion is:

Take it with us to 2016!

Ripped off jeans

Ripped jeans is something we know for years. The past years something was added to the equasion: ripped off jeans. Ripped holes in the jeans still stayed in style, but this was new. Now the bottom of our jeans got ripped of, so no more rolled up legs!

Am I a fan of this trend? Not really. I am not a fan of the ripped off or kinda messy laidback style so I wouldn’t wear this myself. It is unique and it would look great on some people, it’s just not for me.

My conclusion is:

Leave it in 2015

Glitter roots

No more running to the hairdresser’s ladies! This is thé new way to cover up outgrowth on your roots, just put some glitter on it. It is something that came up quite recently, right before the holidayseason. It looks unique, but way to strange to me. It is too bold to wear on a daily basis.

It makes me think of the habitants of The Capitol, in the Hunger Games movies. Just add some glitter lipstick and you are ready to take over Panem.

The only thing I have left to say is:

Leave it in 2015

Clumpy lashes

What was Maybelline even thinking when they introduced this look? This is a total no go for me.

Mascara should give your lashes a natural look, not give the impression of black hairy spiderscrawling over your eyes.

Sometimes when I put on too much mascara by accident, it makes me feel irritated all day long and I can’t see the best.

Overlining lips / Kylie Jenner lip challenge

Do I actually have to say something? This is quite the obvious one. The Kylie Jenner Lip challenge is even dangerous, so if any of you guys still do this, please stop! It does not look good and hurts your lips. Overlining lips is okay to do if you aren’t satisfied with the way your lips look but I’m not doing it. I am happy with my lipshape so I just colour in my lips with my lipstick the way they are.

My conclusion is:

Leave it in 2015

Hun / half bun

Aah, the hun or the half bun! I am a fan of this. Everyone has those day whether they cannot decide to either wear a bun or ponytail or just leave your hair loose. Well, this is the solution to the problem! It looks very stylish and innovative and can be worn with every style and occasion.

Yes to the hun!

Take it with us in 2016!

Stan Smith Sneakers

A style a lot of people like and wear but just doesn’t fit the way I dress and it doesn’t go with my style. I am more of a classy girl. I do like this trend and someday I would like to try it out! Maybe a girly girl version of the sneakers? I am definitely on the hunt for something like this so stay tuned!

Marble smartphone cases

Something I saw a few of my friends wearing on their phones. It looks so pretty and sophisticated. I don’t know how, but it gives me a calm feeling when I look at this. I am hooked on my own phonecase which has a clear back, so it shows the lay-out and the brand of my phone so I am not going to buy a new one anytime soon. But, I would definitely give a go to this trend!
