The lipstick challenge // How did I experience it?

Posted on Posted in Beauty
Hello everyone!

I’ve been gone this week and I am so sorry about it! I was dumped with work this week and I am so tired at night that I can’t put myself to write anymore. I think that’s a shame, because writing for my blog is what I love to do, preferably all day long. So here I am, talking to you guys about the lipstick challenge I did up until last week.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably heard all about it, because I posted my lipstick look everyday on my account. Basically, the point of this challenge is to wear a different lipstick shade every day for two weeks long, so that’s what I did!

Week 1

The first few days I was very excited about this challenge. I picked out all my favorite spring shades and I felt very happy wearing them. I got lots of compliments from friends as well. I did pick out my best lipsticks.

During the week I had no problem putting on a lipstick every day or a different one every day, because I do wear lipstick on the most days. But when I don’t have to go out, I can’t be bothered wearing it. I thought it was kind of a waste wearing lipstick during days I didn’t go out. It is kind of silly to sit in pajamas and wearing glasses, but wear lipstick at the same time. I did it though, I am not giving up!

Week 2

I was kind of running out of my spring lipstick shades. The weather was bad, so I could pull of my fall and winter shades. I had a harder time than the first week because the matte shades were drying out my lips, but the glossy ones gave me a very “made up” feeling.

Since I already used my very best shades, I had to use some shades that don’t have a very good lasting power. I found it very annoying having to re-apply the lipstick after every time I drink and eat. Sometimes I wasn’t really feeling wearing a different shade everyday. I liked a certain new lipstick but I couldn’t try it anymore than one day because of the challenge! It has to wait after the challenge.

On the last sunday, I wore a classic red lipstick. I was in love with this one! I was out the whole day and forgot my lipstick at home. The result? After lunch I had to walk around in stained, half done lips. It looked really ugly, but I didn’t have a choice.

After the challenge

No more lipstick! I thought I would be happy to let my lips breathe a bit but that wasn’t the fact. I really enjoyed the challenge and I kinda felt a bit naked without my lipstick on. My lips felt incomplete without my lipstick on it.

This challenge made me appreciate some of my shades a bit more, because some of them, I really forgot about. I didn’t know I still had them, but I am happy I rediscovered some of them! I was also happy about the fact that lipstick has the power to give your face such a boost, you don’t need anything else anymore. It gives your face some color and imperfections just disappear when you put on lipstick.

I will definitely wear a lot more lipstick after these two weeks because it makes me feel good. I just feel better wearing it!

How do you feel about wearing lipstick?
