Today’s post is a review. I tested out a cushion foundation! I was intrigued by this kind of systems for a long time, so I couldn’t help but buying one. When I was in Tenerife, I found out there was a Kiko store next to my hotel! I was thrilled. I went there and bought a lot of products. This is the first one I am reviewing for you all.
What is it?
The product is by Kiko Milano and is called the CC cream Cushion System. This kind of dispenser is a trend from Asia, which flew over to Europe and the US. The product is soaked into a sponge, which makes your skin look more natural, hydrated and healthy. It is a CC cream, which helps your skin complexion look less dull.
What does it promise?
The product has an SPF factor of 25. The product has a fluid, light texture that goes onto the skin easily, and melts into it naturally. It makes imperfections fade away. Thanks to the cushion system, the product is dosed perfectly on the skin. It makes the skin smooth and soft.
A lot of promises, so I am very curious if the product does what it says!
First, I used the sponge applicator the product came with. Normally it would be the “perfect applicator” to do that. Let’s see!
I don’t think this kind of sponge works the best with the product. It doesn’t pick up a lot of product. If you have good skin, the sponge may be good for you but I need a little more, so it isn’t the best choice for me.
I am intrigued by the cushion system. It looks so cool, soaked into the product. I could stare at it for like half an hour or something.
If you push it with your finger, a generous amount of product comes out. There is a lot of product in it so you spend your money well if you buy it. The sponge glides a bit too much over my skin in stead of buffing it in.
The product itself applies very quickly and it is indeed a very light product. I have to use two layers to get an even coverage, but I guess that’s what the product isn’t made for. It is meant to use if you want your complexion to stand out a bit more.
I loved how the product applies, it is quick and easy. I used my own knock-off beauty blender in stead of the one it came with, which works better for me. I push it into the cushion and just the right amount of product comes out.
I love how quick this product works. It is perfect to use on a day that you don’t have much time to get ready. If you have good skin, this product is a good addition to your light make-up routine. It isn’t shiny at all, you can go out the house without using any powder, it gives a dewy look. It does fade a bit during the day. There is one thing I don’t like about this, and that’s the smell. It smells so weird and chemical I guess, which isn’t fun to put on your face.
I love the cushion system, it works perfectly fine and gives the right amount of product to put on your face. I will definitely use this product again on days that I don’t have much time, or want a light coverage, for example in summer.
Quick and short
+ Cushion system works perfectly fine
+ Innovative product
+ Looks very natural
+ Gives a dewy look
+ Perfect for a light make-up look
+ Quick and easy
+ No smudging with liquids
– Shiny packaging, which makes it look dirty as soon as you touch it
– Chemical smell
– Applicator it came with doesn’t work that good
– Can go streaky if you rub with your sponge
– Not very buildable
I would recommend this product for people that have a good skin by themselves, that just want to even it out a little bit, to give it something extra. In summer it would be perfect, because it is so light so it will not feel cakey at all. People with dry skin would love this as well, since the product has skincare in it that will treat your skin right. It gives it a dewy look.
People that love a high coverage, will not be satisfied with this. It is very lightweight so you would have to build it up a lot to get an even coverage, which is not always ideal to do.
I will definitely use this product a lot more! I love it and in summer, it will be my best friend. A big thumbs up for Kiko’s cushion system!
I give this product a 8,5/10.
That was it for today! I hope you enjoyed and let me know in the comments if you have tried out this product before and what you think of it! Or if you have tried any cushion foundation, because I would love to try out more.
See you next time!
