Review of the MUA eyeshadow trio chocolate box make-uplook| Rusty Bronzes

Hello everyone!

Today I am going to review an eyeshadowtrio by MUA for you guys. I created a rusty bronze make-uplook which is perfect to wear on several occasions, depending on how much make-up you like to wear. Let’s see what I think about this little palette!

Packaging

As you can see on the picture the trio is in a nice simple black packaging with silver letters on it. I think it is a durable packaging which is also very important to me. Sometimes packaging is fancy and nice but after a couple of uses it just breaks and then you are left with just the make-up.

The eyeshadows themselves look baked, as they come in round little spheres. All three of them are shimmery, which is kinda of a bummer.

It is almost impossible to create a make-uplook without matte eyeshadows, so you can’t just bring your trio when you are on vacation or something. You have to pack other eyeshadows.

The trio comes with a little sponge applicator. I don’t like these things, but some people do so for some of us it might come in handy.

Quality

When I first swatched the colours, the pigmentation wasn’t very high. I had to apply it several times on my hand to get an even colour. That’s too bad, because I don’t like low pigmentation. It gets on my nerves when the colours look washed away.

The colours look beautiful. I really like the dark gold colour. It looks very sophisticated and rich. The brown one on the left is also very pretty. The right brown is a little bit darker than the other one and a bit more pink. There is not much of a difference, thou.

Rusty bronzes make-up look

Time to slap some make-up on guys! I am so excited to be back in the game and wear make-up again, because during finals I didn’t had the time to pull this of. So let’s go!

I started off with my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly and I set it with some facepowder. I did my brows with the browgel by Maybelline.

I applied the left brown chocolate colour with a dense fluffy brush in the second third of my lid and a bit in the outer corner.

Here I have applied the darkest pink chocolate colour with the same brush in my outer corner and a bit in my crease. This created a dark look which looked a bit scary at first but I blended it out with the colour Limit on the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay.

This is the finished look! I hope you guys like what I came up with.

The last colour to apply is the golden colour. This goes on the first third of the lid and I am putting it a bit over the chocolate brown to blend it all together. With a matte white shade I got rid off the harsh edges on the browbone and the inner corner. Two coats of mascara and we are done!

Overall view

I really love the colours and the packaging but the pigmentation isn’t good. It has a very low coverage and I had to layer the colours before I got the desirable coverage. I love the looks you can create with it, but you have to use other shades because they are all shimmery.

Overal view of the completed look. On my cheeks I applied the Catrice blush in I Am Nuts About You and the Maybelline mauve lipstick. I think it goes well together.

This is a palette I borrowed from my mom, and I guess I wouldn’t buy palettes like this by MUA Make Up Academy myself. I think there are better alternatives to this.

I would give this product a 6,5/10.

That was it for today guys, I hope you liked it! Please let my know in the comments what you think about this look and if you have tried out this kind of eyeshadows by MUA as well, I would love to know you guys’ experiences!

See you guys next time!
