Merry Christmas everyone!

By the time you may be reading this, Christmas might be over or not, but I still want to wish you a very good Christmastime. Today I am sharing my christmasevedinner look. I am showing you my clothes, hair and make-up. To get you in the real christmasspirit, I show you some pictures from the very jummy food I ate. Warning: you might get hungry after reading this!

Ah, December, the month filled with joy, glitters and presents. But for Belgian students, as you may or may not know, it is also a time of hard work and studying.

During christmasbreak, we have to study for our finals coming up in January. This is really not fun, especially with the holidays.

Being a perfectionist, I study all the time and I find it very hard to take breaks because I want to get the best results. I realize this is not possible, so I try to take a little break every once in a while!

One of these breaks was Christmas eve. I got the chance to perk up myself and get some nice food. I’ll show you through my night!

Have a wonderful Christmas guys!

The make-up

I really love the holidays because us girls can really go all out with our make-up. I was planning my look a few days before so I was really excited to put everything. My make-up may be a bit more fancy than normal, but that’s okay!

The base

The primer I used is by Benefit and is called The Porefessional. I am using my trusty old Clinique Blemish Solutions in the shade Ivory. I am mixing some highlighter in my foundation for a more festive look. I chose the golden highlighter Lustre Drops in Sun Rush by MAC. I used the concealer palette by MUA and my MAC Careblend powder in Light to set everything. I used some browgel by Maybelline to fill in my brows and the MAC Painterly Paint Pot to prime my eyes.

The eyes

I wanted to go for a white bronzey look, so I started to choose a warm brown blending colour. I used this brown by Kryolan to warm up my crease with a big fluffy brush. After that, I used a big flat shader brush to apply the lid colour.

I went for this white glittery colour by MAC. I applied it all over the lid. Then I picked up the brown colour Wedge to put it in the outercorner and I am also blending it in the Kryolan colour.

I used MAC’s Vanilla pigment as the final shade. I am putting it on my browbone, inner corner and on on the center of my lid to warm up my eyeshadowlook a bit. I used the brown eyeliner by Catrice in Hazel The Hoff on my upperlid and I am also bringing it down a bit. In my waterline I am using the golden pencil by Bourjois. I used the Clinique mascara to finish off the eyes.

The face

I am using my Urban Decay Naked Flushed to finish off my face. I am using the bronze colour to bronze up my face. For blush, I decided to take a lipstick (again). I just really like the flushed look for winter! I am using the Maybeline Made To Stay ten hour liquid lipstick in this maroon shade. I am blending out this colour on my cheeks. As a highlighter, I am using the MAC Vanilla Pigment again on my cheekbones, top of my forehead, cupid’s bow, tip of the nose and the chin. I am spraying the Fix+ by MAC to make sure everything stays in place.

The lips

I went for the classic red lip for Christmas eve this year. I used the L’oreal Color Riche in Red Passion all over my lips. I am blotting it of with a tissue and apply new layers a few times, to make sure the colour really stays. To top it off, I am using the red lipgloss by HYPE Makeup, again with the blotting technique.

The hair

Normally I am a loose hair person, but this year I wanted to change it up a little for a more festive feel and a little bit more experimenting. Take a look at what I created!

Braided curly updo

I washed my hair just like normal and then I brushed my hair with a big brush and a blowdryer.

To get some texture in my hair, I am using this hair oil to make my hair shine and texturised. After that, I am starting to side braid my hair from the top to the bottom.

I am making sure it is a thick braid, so you can really see I created a braid, later on in the bun. The next step is to roll up the braid in a little knot on the side of my head (the side my ‘bangs’ are in). (I don’t really have bangs but I don’t know what else to call it.) I am securing it with an elastic and to keep everything in place I used some bobby pins because I have thick hair and it tends to loosen up after a while. I am pulling out some strings on both sides of my head and a string in the knot itself. This pieces I am curling with my curling iron so it looks a bit more festive. The last step is to use hairspray. I use it on my roots to prevent fly-aways and in the bun for the same reason.

The outfit

A bit of a different outfit for me as well! Normally with festivities, I throw on a dress. This year, I went for a fancy blouse and a skirt.

Edgy glitter vs. patterns

I am starting off with a white top and I am throwing on this white chiffon blouse by H&M over it. It has gold detailing on it and I bought it from the festive collection this year. I am tucking it into my skirt. I am wearing a black skirt with glitter studs on them. Black nylons to keep myself warm and I am good to go!

The shoes

Oh, maybe I am forgetting to put on shoes! That might come in handy… I went for this black shining pumps by Avance. I put on a statement necklace as well and this one is just beige by Veritas. I put on my black coat with the knots by L&L and a shiny beige scarf by Forever 21.

The starter

For starters, we had some fish. It was a nice piece of filet with ‘pommes chateau‘ and a sauce called ‘chabli‘. As a side, there was crayfish and some vegetablechips.

The entremets

For this course, we could choose between a jenever and a sorbet. I went for the sorbet.

The dessert

The dessert was called “dessert in the snow.”

I had an amazing and cosy night with my family at the restaurant. I enjoyed the food and my thoughts weren’t with my studystuff all the time. I was relaxed this night. My plans for Christmas day? Getting in my christmasthemed onesie first time in the morning and opening the presents in front of our tree and drinking lots of hot chocolate with whipped cream or marsmallows. At noon, my mom makes a stuffed turkey and we ate a true christmasdessert after. The rest of the day is left for studying, unfortunately…

The gifts

I got a couple of presents from my parents. I am so thankful to have such an amazing family. I love them so much and I got them some presents in return!

I got a gift coupon from MAC, a Clarins duo of skincare, A Maybelline brush set, A necklace, a subscription to both Vogue and Elle, the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume and you guys can have a sneak peek of my New Years eve dress!
