I love coffee. I can’t start my day without a cup, especially on weekdays. In the weekend I tend to skip coffee because I wake up later, so I don’t really need it that much anymore. On weekdays it can warm me up, and it makes me feel so much more productive. I love to stay in the coffee bar for a while and work over there for a bit. It is my favorite moment of the day! In this post, I am sharing five of my favorite types of coffee. Are you curious what they are?
As a journalism student, we get taught to drink and love coffee. Well, it isn’t a course or something, but it is just a journalist thing to walk around with your cup of coffee at the office. I love sweet coffeedrinks the most, with a lot of milk or syrup in it. While writing this, I am actually sipping my Christmas Blend latte by Starbucks, so grab a seat, sip your coffee and let’s go!
An all time favorite of mine is the Latte Macchiato, preferably with caramel syrup in it. If there aren’t any seasonal drinks available, this is the one I tend to go for the most. It tastes like a soft coffee, blended with a nice hint of caramel in it. On campus, there aren’t a lot of different flavors at the coffee display, so I go for the Latte Macchiato most of the times. Perfect to start the day!
Pumpkin Spice Latte
My all time favorite seasonal drink! When fall arrives, I hush to Starbucks as soon as possible to get my hands on one of these. The drink is so unique, it contains a lot of spices. That balances out the sweetness of the latte, making it a very fall-ish drink! Definitely a must-try!
Toffee Nut Latte
Another seasonal favorite by Starbucks. It is the Toffee Nut Latte, which makes me think of the typical Christmas chocolates there are. It is very sweet and contains a lot of whipped cream, but is amazing. Ideal for the holidays, when you crave something more throughout the colder days.
White chocolate mocha
This one you can get at a lot more coffeeshops other than Starbucks. I love me a good mocha or Americano one in a while. These two types taste a lot more like coffee. In fact, you have the full coffee taste on this one. I believe the difference between them two is in the way the coffee is brewed. Sometimes, I just crave a good, full-on taste coffee, especially when I am tired. When I am tired, when finals arrive in december and january (oh god help) I even reach for an espresso. When I am feeling a bit more fancy, I go for a white chocolate mocha, which contains, of course, white chocolate, to make the drink a lot more sweet.
This last one is one I get at a local coffeeshop near campus. When I have a bit more time, I tend to skip the school coffee display and go to my favorite coffeeshop nearby. It is called Bar Jan Cremer here in Ghent, and it has a lot of different types of coffee. I always go for their sweet lattes. They have a range of different syrups you can add to your drink. The syrups really taste like the flavor they promise, which I love. The syrups really taste through, which is amazing. My favorite is the vanilla one. It gives my latte a little more shwung. They also have chocolate, toffee, gingerbread and a lot of others.
That was it for today everyone! I hope you enjoyed reading.
What is your favorite type of coffee?
See you next time!
