I guess every woman or man has experienced it before: you love travelling and you love doing your makeup. Both passions are often hard to combine. When you are travelling, you often have to pack light due to extra costs or just for your own convenience when you arrive at your destination. You don’t want to search for big palettes or fancy powders when you want to experience a new country. I felt the same way. When I found out that Smashbox came out with this tiny, beautiful eyeshadow palette I knew I found my new holy grail.
As I announced in my previous post, I bought some new makeup during my visit in Budapest, Hungary. This palette was the big star of my shopping spree.
I got the Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palette in Ablaze, a compact little palette with 8 allround shades. This palette contains the perfect colors for a light day look, but also has the ideal shades for a night look. You can even change it up with the burgundy or orange color for a more festive look.
As I stated before, this design of this eyeshadow palette is amazing for travelling or on the go. It is not only handy but pretty. The cover is holographic – I could wiggle it around for hours! The two lightest shades are a bit bigger than the others because most of the times, these shades are used more often. It is compact, pretty and it closes
A soft peachy shade, amazing for blending harsh lines and a perfect matte highlight color for the brow bone and inner corner.
A light copper shade, perfect to apply all over the lid for a daytime look or as a highlight color for a nighttime look.
A rosy-copper shade. Amazing all over the lid, or to dab on for a little accent in your look.
A matte deep berry shade. Perfect to apply in the outer corner or even in the crease for a soft romantic look.
A coppery-brown color. A staple color every woman or man needs to create a stunning eye look.
A stunning orange color with golden shimmer in it. An extraordinary color for a festive or party look.
A muted reddish-brown color. Perfect for blending in the crease, dramatic or non-dramatic.
A deep brown color, ideal for some outer corner definition or even blending in the crease for a more dramatic look.
I can’t describe how pigmented these shades are. When I first used Throwback in the crease, I dipped it twice as I usually do, and I got way too much in my crease because it was so pigmented. I was so impressed!
Quick & short
+Good color selection for daytime and nighttime as well as festive looks
+ Compact packaging for travelling
+ Highly pigmentated
+ Good for beginners
And that’s really the only minus I have for this palette. I recommend this palette for everyone: beginners, lovers of travel, makeup fanatics and everyone else! This was definitely a rave review but everything is honest. I bought this product by myself. And as some of you may know, I also share less positive thoughts about products with you, like the one you can read here.
Definitely stay tuned for some inspirational looks coming up with these little beauty!
